  • Cerebrovascular diseases was the fifth leading cause of death in 2022. In 2022, the number of deaths were 3,057 accounting for 5.0% of all registered deaths. The crude death rates for male and female were 48.1 and 36.1 per 100,000 population of respective sex.

Figures from 2001 onwards may not be comparable with figures for previous years which were compiled based on the ICD 9th Revision. Hence, caution should be exercised when interpreting the trend of diseases across 2000 and 2001.
