- In 2023, 52,626 inpatient discharges and deaths were related to the malignant neoplasm of breast, commonly known as breast cancer, which accounted for 19.3% of hospitalisation due to all types of cancers.

- Breast cancer was the fifth leading cause of cancer death in Hong Kong in 2023. In 2023, 834 persons died from breast cancer, accounting for 5.6% of all cancer deaths. The crude death rates for female was 20.3 per 100,000 population of female.

- The age-standardised death rate due to breast cancer for both sexes remained stable between 1981 and 2023.

- In 2023, the female age-specific death rate due to breast cancer generally increased with age. Breast cancer was rare in male.
